Leaves Inn is an antebellum Greek Revival style
home, located in the Jefferson Historic District. It
is listed in the National Register of Historic Places,
and is a recorded Texas Historical landmark. Enjoy the
12' 8" ceilings, a gas chandelier converted to
electricity, a library, and afternoon refreshments in
an intimate, casual, quiet, and comfortable
atmosphere. The huge Magnolia tree, which you see in
the picture above, was planted by the original owners
of the house, about 1855. At the rear is one of the
largest crepe myrtle trees in East Texas, planted about
1875. You will enjoy a rocking chair on the screened-in
porch and a stroll through the grounds, under 100-year-old
pecan trees. You'll delight in finding something in
bloom most seasons!
You
will enjoy our four distinct, antique-filled guest rooms,
each with private bath, king size bed, and cable TV.
All rooms are 17x13 or larger. The Magnolia Room
is our most luxurious. It's the bridal suite, embellished
with heart pine floors and a Rice bed. Eloise Amoss
etched her name in a window pane with her diamond engagement
ring in this room in 1867. The Cypress Room is
adorned with a beautiful armiore, heart pine floors,
and a Grand Estate bed. The Dogwood Room offers
the grace of the curly pine fireplace mantle from an
Alabama plantation, chandelier, and a white wrought
iron Victorian bed. The romantic decor of the Pine
Room includes chandelier, hardwood floors, and a
solid cherry Windsor bed.
Sumptuous
gourmet breakfast with the menu varying daily. Enjoy
extra special Southern hospitality and forget your diet
for a day or two. This is the place to be pampered and
enjoy the charm and romance of one of Texas' best bed
and breakfast inns.
