Green Gables Bed and Breakfast

ocated on a 15 acre ranch in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Green Gables Bed and Breakfast offers guests an opportunity to escape big city noise and cares. Our property features three accommodations: a traditional suite in the main house with a private balcony overlooking the Little Blanco River and two guesthouses with private spas. All rooms are decorated to create a special experience for your stay.

Guests gather for breakfast in the main house for an opportunity to meet other travelers and visit with the hosts, Glen and Sue McFarlin. Sue prepares breakfasts most mornings and she insists no one leaves the table hungry. Only the finest ingredients available are used; fresh dairy butter and cream, farm eggs purchased locally, just to mention a few. Glen's specialty is homemade oatmeal waffles with Vermont maple syrup and a special sausage to complement them.

For the day's activities guests can participate in local events such as market days and local festivities or tour nearby Blanco, Fredericksburg, Johnson City, Boerne, San Marcos and New Braunfels. Wineries, museums, antique shops and great restaurants are located throughout the area.

For the more adventurous, there is plenty of water recreation on the many nearby rivers and lakes. One popular activity is river tubing on the Guadalupe or Comal.

When your day is over return to your room or guesthouse to enjoy the chirping sound of black-chin frogs on the Little Blanco River that crosses the back of Green Gables.
