ess
than 40 minutes from downtown Fort Worth, you can escape the hectic
city atmosphere and experience some true Texas hospitality in a magnificent
Queen Ann style mansion built at the turn
of the century. Scenic and cultural attractions abound in this beautiful
North Texas hill country. Three nearby lakes and the Brazos River offer
great and varied recreational opportunities including trails, climbing,
hiking, boating, fishing, hunting...you name it! The historic and architecturally
intriguing downtown area is an easy walk away with its antiques, craft
and other shops. Many day trips and tours can keep you entertained for
weeks.
Built in 1904 as
a boarding house on beautifully landscaped grounds, Silk Stocking
Row invites guests to enjoy the comfortable environs of the library,
parlor, formal dining room as well as the spacious wraparound verandahs
located on the first and second floors both floors...or just enjoy
your
leisure moments on the swing hanging from the old stately oak trees.
Spacious guest rooms are all located on the second floor with television,
private baths, central air and heat. Telephones, upon request, are
available
in several of the rooms. A bottle of genuine "Crazy Water" from
the nearby well that made Mineral Wells famous (and supposedly cured
many ills) awaits each guest. Room accommodations vary with even
a suite available for the fortunate. All are decorated with a heavy
