Twin Oaks Country Inn, located on a Pre-Civil War plantation, is nestled among towering pines, graceful lakes, and rolling meadows. The 105-year-old Southern colonial home was moved to the plantation grounds and carefully restored. Five beautifully decorated and antique-appointed rooms, along with a unique, bay-windowed gathering room, are housed beneath its' Victorian roof. All of our rooms have private entries, private modern baths, color TV, antiques, king or queen beds, original woodworks, and beautiful hardwood floors. For those who wish the ultimate in privacy, our poolside bungalow provides just the right touch.

At Twin Oaks, nature's abundance has provided you with spectacular views, glorious sunrises, quiet walks, gentle sunsets, and romantic twilights. From any of the four porches, the poolside gazebo, or your own window, observe deer as they graze for hickory nuts and acorns. Relax with early morning coffee on your porch, or in the bay window of the gathering room, and experience a breathtaking sunrise.

After your delicious breakfast, you may enjoy a walk around the plantation grounds, a cool swim in the pool, brisk game of classic croquet, badminton, horseshoes, or walking the short 1.5 miles to Jefferson.

You will also enjoy learning the history on Twin Oaks Plantation. The site was once a working plantation, numbering hundreds of acres, and was situated between the two major arteries of commerce for East Texas -- Big and Little Cypress Rivers. An interesting feature is the Civil War era well, lined with a double wall of slave-made bricks. Twin Oaks features an impressive collection of rare 18th and 19th century antiques and family heirlooms, including European and American furnishings, porcelains, and accessories.
