The Wicklow Inn

he Wicklow Inn is named after County Wicklow, Ireland, the ancestral home of the O'Toole clan. This historic property was built in the 1890's out of California Redwood. The house features a curved walnut staircase imported from France with a large curved leaded glass window on the stairwell.

The Inn has a huge front porch (60 by 15 feet)where our guests can spend time swinging or rocking away their cares. Located near the Navarro County Courthouse, the Inn is convenient to the many antique stores in the historic downtown area. The Inn combines the warm hospitality of a Celtic Inn with the comfort and convenience Americans have come to expect. This is an ideal place to sit back and enjoy a time from the past. The Dining Room at the Wicklow Inn offers five course candlelight dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings by reservation only. The dinners' feature homemade breads and desserts prepared on site by our kitchen staff. The dining room is also the location for the outstanding Wicklow Inn Breakfast available each morning for our guests.

The Inn features six guest rooms with one located the the Carriage House, one on the first floor and four on the second floor. Five of the rooms have queen size beds (one has a double bed) and two in the main house have single day beds in addition. The Carriage House also has a trunnel day bed. The Inn can sleep 16 adults in comfort. All of our guest rooms have cable tv with free movies, VCR's with a large selection (over 100) of VCR tapes, and dial telephones with free local calls. Four bedrooms have private baths and two share a bath. All but one bathroom has a shower. Our large selection of books are also available for our guests to enjoy.
