The Royal Scotsman at Pinecrest

Salt Lake City, Utah

ell known for its superior luxury and hospitality, The Royal Scotsman at Pinecrest takes great pride in providing its guests the personal attention enjoyed by travelers of the past. Marked by the massive wrought iron gates which were originally at the Paramount Studios in the 1930's, this six acre estate with its formal gardens, stream and trout pond, is the perfect setting for a picturesque visit to one of Utah's most beautiful areas.

The Royal Scotsman at Pinecrest is located just 20 minutes east of SALT LAKE CITY, 20 minutes to PARK CITY, and 40 minutes to SNOWBIRD, which offers excellent winter skiing. Pinecrest is the perfect mid-point oasis for a trip from Southern Utah (Bryce & Zion Parks) to Yellowstone Park.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES:

  • Six Award Winning Guest Accommodations / All with Private Baths
  • THE ORIENTAL or HONEYMOON SUITE / $195.00
Located on the upper floor of the Inn, you can't help but be overwhelmed by the magnificent view of the gardens below. We've gone to great lengths to acquire absolutely exquisite Oriental pieces such as the Ming silk couches, and the Coro Mandel screen from Mainland China. The Oriental Suite with a king bed, twin beds in a separate room and full bath with a rose-colored Jacuzzi tub is the pride of our Inn.
  • THE SOUTHWESTERN SUITE / $195.00
Think of the stunning beauty of Bryce Canyon, Zion, Arches & Canyon Lands. That's the feeling we have tried to create in our newest room, The Southwestern Suite. Native American artifacts from the west along with the rich sandstone colors ads a special warmth to this suite. This is our only accommodation that has both a fireplace and a six foot sandstone colored Jacuzzi Tub. The Southwestern theme captures the tradition of the best of Utah.
  • THE ENGLISH LIBRARY BEDROOM / $120.00
We've found a great collection of Zane Gray short stories that we have put in the English Library along with a marvelous vintage radio which plays Burns & Allen, Jack Benny, and Glenn Miller. Once you've sat down in the overstuffed chair with a good book, you'll really start to appreciate the tranquil atmosphere of the canyon. Included are a king bed, a full bath with a large marble tub, and a spectacular view.
  • THE JAMAICAN JACUZZI ROOM / $175.00
For something a little different, we suggest you spend a few minutes in the sauna, which is next to your room, and then relax in your own private sunken Jacuzzi tub, finished in imported tiles. You will enjoy sleeping to the sound of the stream and waterfall, just outside your room. The room has some fun items from Jamaica, a King bed, some parrots and a zebra.
  • THE HOLLAND BLUE ROOM / $85.00
This delightful room with antiques from Holland and its delicate blue-flowered wallpaper is also a favorite. The bath has a shower with the most gorgeous jet black tile. From this room, you have a quick exit to the various trails that traverse throughout the property. Queen bed, white wicker furniture, and wooden shoes.
  • THE STETSON GUEST HOUSE / $175.00
Secluded in the woods by the stream is the Stetson Guest House. The large living room has a fireplace, beautiful hardwood floors, and a 1930's Stetson Hat and poster collection as well as other western memorabilia from the past. There's a queen bed, full bath and a kitchen for those who wish to do their own cooking. The balcony, with a rocking chair, faces the stream and woods.
  • THE RUSTIC CANYON CABIN / $165.00 (for 2)
Picture a cute 1940's style cabin nestled amongst the pines in the mountains and you have pictured our Canyon Cabin. It has a living room with a wood burning fireplace, a full kitchen, and a bath with an iron claw tub and two double beds upstairs. The Cabin is located 1 1/2 miles past the main Inn and is a little more rustic in character. There's nothing like sitting out on the deck under the pines, listening to the sound of the stream on a warm summer evening. From the cabin, there's a wonderful trail which takes you through Utah's most incredible wild flowers. You might even catch a glimpse of the deer or the five canyon moose on your walk. It's also a wonderful cross country ski trail in the winter. ($185.00 for 4 people)
  • A full BREAKFAST of Banana-sour-cream Pancakes, French Toast or Omelets are served in the dining room overlooking the trout pond and formal gardens.
