rierley Hill offers the best of both worlds...spectacular
views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley just five minutes from
historic Lexington. The Bed & Breakfast has six accommodations...three
bedrooms and three
2-room suites. All guestrooms have fireplaces or stoves,
350+ thread count linens, down comforters, TV/DVD combinations and oriental
rugs. The two suites also feature whirlpool tubs, bathrobes, refrigerators
and separate sitting rooms. The guestrooms can accommodate up to 19 persons
as follows: Good Friends suite (up to 4), Love Seat suite (up
to 4), Wedgwood
room (up to 3), Once Upon A Time room (2), Peace room (2) and the Magnolias
cottage suite (4).
The common area has a guest computer with free high-speed internet, a hot beverage machine, fully stocked refrigerator, TV/DVD combination and a DVD library. The innkeepers also maintain a collection of menus from local restaurants to help you decide among Lexington's many dining experiences.
A prix fixe breakfast is included in the room rates and is served by the fire in winter and, if you wish, on the verandahs in the summer. The morning fare ranges from savory egg dishes to sweet waffles and French Toast. Your breakfast will always include fresh fruit and one of Joyce's special breakfast soups.

Some of the more popular things to see or do include: the campus of Washington & Lee University (Lee Chapel & Museum), the campus of the Virginia Military Institute (VMI Museum, Friday Cadet parade), the Virginia Horse Center, Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Chessie Nature Trail, George Marshall Museum, Rockbridge Vineyard, the Theater at Lime Kiln and the Buffalo Springs Herb Farm.

Smoking is permitted on the verandahs only. No pets allowed - there are several excellent boarding facilities nearby. Children above the age of 12 are welcome. Reservations must be secured with a deposit by check or credit card equal to one night's lodging. A full refund will be made if a cancellation notice is received 10 days prior to the arrival date (30 days for May & October weekends and special events). No refund for early departure.
