COME visit us at THE INN ON COVERED BRIDGE GREEN, former home of America's most beloved illustrator, NORMAN ROCKWELL; For over two centuries, the Villages of Arlington have been home to other such historic Vermont figures as 18th Century ETHAN ALLEN and his GREEN MOUNTAIN BOYS and 20th Century writers, DOROTHY CANFIELD FISHER and poet, ROBERT FROST.
AWAKE to country sounds outside your window and the scent of a hearty New England breakfast to start your day. SAVOR the essence of New England as you recognize the Rockwell spirit that influenced the character and names of our guest rooms. A variety of rooms and a suite are available in our NONSMOKING environment.
MEET the people and village that inspired Norman Rockwell as you linger a night or longer with us in this, his former home, our 204 year old Colonial farmstead, now an elegant little bed and breakfast Inn by the BATTEN KILL, one of our country's finest trout rivers.
EXPLORE the pristine beauty of this stream as you stroll along our River Road with its panoramic views of neighbors' farms and meadows. Let its current carry your canoe or tube between its banks for a closer look at the tiny creatures, birds, and wildflowers dwelling in and around its edges. A plunge into its refreshing, clear waters at the swimming hole under the Covered Bridge just in front of our inn will surely awaken your senses!
MINGLE in the late afternoon with fellow guests on our spacious lawns or perhaps take a hike up through our hillside apple orchard. Later dine in one of the nearby restaurants and perhaps take in a local concert or summer theatre production.
