Fitch Hill Inn

he Fitch Hill Inn, located on a hilltop near the picturesque village of Hyde Park, has a quiet off-highway location. Two of its six guest rooms and its two common areas have fantastic views of the Green Mountains and its central location provides a perfect place to explore all that northern Vermont has to offer.

Our six individually decorated guest rooms include one with a double bed, three with queen beds and two large one-room "suites", both of which have queen bed, double sofa bed, TV/VCR, fireplace and Jacuzzi. Private baths, ceiling fans, air conditioning plus complimentary sherry, drinking water, mints and bathroom amenities make for a very pleasant and comfortable stay whichever room you choose.

Attractive and comfortable common areas include a large living room with wood-burning stove and a TV room with gas fireplace, which also houses our 150-tape video library. Books, games (including a chess set with Revolutionary War characters) and puzzles are also available for guests' enjoyment. Outdoors there are two covered porches (one with a fantastic mountain view) and three decks, which overlook the gardens. A year-round hot tub resides on one of the decks and tables and chairs on another deck provide a place to serve breakfast in good weather.

Included in all room rates is our award-winning full breakfast, which features fresh homemade muffins, fruit, an entree such as Gingerbread Waffles or made-to-order omelets, juice and Green Mountain coffee or your choice of teas.

With plenty to see and do in the area, you can keep busy for days. Skiing (both downhill and cross-country), snowshoeing, snowmobiling, skating, hiking, biking, fishing, golf, canoeing and kayaking are just some of the recreational opportunities nearby. Attractions such as Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Cabot Creamery, Smuggler's Notch State Park, Johnson Woolen Mills, Shelburne Museum, Vermont Teddy Bear Factory and Lake Champlain are all within an easy drive of the inn. And if you're into antiques, there are plenty of antique shops and malls close by as well.
