Bed and Breakfast Inns of North Americae look forward to welcoming you to our home. Gillum House offers three second floor guestrooms and invite all guests to "steal" books from the second floor bookcases. Oftentimes guests are greeted by the aroma of bread baking; Kathleen makes all breads served here. Be sure to tell Kathleen what time your want breakfast in the morning - breakfast times must be between 4 AM and Noon please.

The Gillum Room was the master bedroom of Troy Gillum, B & O Station Agent from 1911 to 1957. A replica of the Shinnston Depot, built to the scale of the Lionel engine and tender coming into the station grace the shelf above the mantle in tribute to Mr. Gillum. The queen-size 4-poster rice bed whispers the comfort and luxury of this relaxing large room. The TV has DVD and VCR should you wish to bring (or rent movies). The en suite (new in 2006) private bath has a wonderful, very large, original to the house claw-foot tub with romantic dimmer switch for the light over the tub plus a well-lighted 48 inch shower that also has a personal shower head. The handicap height toilet is gentle to our older knees.

In 2006, the original bathroom in the house was renovated. Shared by Rosi's Room and the Harris Room, it features a 60-inch shower complete with personal shower, ceramic tile floor, and "gentle on the knees", handicap height toilet.

Rosi's Room offers the peace, quiet, and tranquility of yesteryear as, other than the CD/radio/alarm clock, we have removed the distractions of the 21st century from this room. Curl up with a good book or enjoy the almost forgotten art of conversation in this room with a double Windsor-style bed with pillow-top mattress.

Gillum House has been awarded 5 "green triangles" by bestgreenhotels.com for our attention to being environmentally friendly as we pamper our guests. Our laundry is done with perfume-free, dye-free detergent for our detergent sensitive guests.

Being conscientious of the many allergies in this world, the Harris Room is totally "feather-free", having handmade quilts and fiberfill pillows on the double bed with pillow-top mattress. The large oak rocking chair, antique floor lamp, and book rack create a cozy book nook in the Harris Room.

There are so many things to see and do in this area (unless you want ocean - we are a bit short of ocean this year), Kathleen asks you to tell her your interests so she can create a special tour just for you from covered bridges and wineries to a motorcycle day trip where you do not cross the same piece of pavement twice.
